A track about anger, with lyrics by Accra-based artist Kacey Moore, inspired and re-enacted from interviews conducted for the documentary film Contradict about alternative artists in Ghana, co-directed by Peter Guyer and Thomas Burkhalter. Moore speaks of anger and frustration on local and global levels, of his mother – who says he shouldn’t take injustices to heart and stay quiet – and of global injustices that anger him.



About Melodies In My Head:
Melodies in My Head is the new group of Thomas Burkhalter (anthropologist, AV artist, and founder of Norient) and music producer Daniel Jakob (Dubokaj, Dejot). Their debut album, «Joy Anger Doubt» (vinyl was released early 2024, digital release follows autumn 2024), takes us on a ride through joyful pop, hard-hitting club tracks, and experimental sonic landscapes.

The lyrics are drawn largely from ethnographic interviews conducted with artists and thinkers in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe over the past fifteen years. They bear witness to the diverse emotions people go through in turbulent times: hope, joy, ecstasy, depression, doubt, fear, trauma, and anger.
